Just to let anyone who's interested know. Outrider the game of post-apocalyptic car wars is currently only £4.90 on DriveThruRPG. It contains all the rules, cards etc. you need to play.
Both Justin and I have the rules and are working on our Hot Wheels & Matchbox conversions. Should have a game or two coming to a clubnight near you shortly.

The problem with changing the way initiative is done is that it reflects a key feature of how you set up your car, i.e. which die you assign to your engine.

I think if I made a set of those roads I could use then for any post-apocalyptic game and they would be quite hardy. I might give it a blast on some test pieces.

I have the Damage Deck add on where instead of scoring a hit and doing one damage you draw a card which gives more random effects. Also leaves smoke and debris hazards on the track.

We could run an 8 (or more?) car Demolition Derby? Might be a nice group game. Would need to cut down the time on certain things, so improve the car record keeping, (single sheet, drywipe markers to keep track), two deck of movement cards so one person prepares while another carries out their move, stuff like that.

Yes, should work fine. Are there any downloads you could then mount onto the board - saves spraying and painting. Or could you use the World works modern roads?
I enjoyed the game. The mechanics were simple enough. Simultaneous movement might over-complicate it, but preplanning moves and then moving in a randomly determined order might add excitement.

Two things ...

Firstly any feedback on the game held on the open day would be good.

Secondly, a lot of people have quite good home made road sections. I'm thinking that I could cut up some 3mm ply into straight and curved sections, spray with textured paint and then paint as tarmac adding lines. Good idea?
